Amy Gupta was born in Chicago but moved to Montgomery County in the third grade and has lived in the area ever since. Beyond her faith and family, Amy’s greatest passion is books—she loves reading, writing, and visiting bookstores. A naturally creative person, she once made and sold handmade jewelry and knitted doll outfits at craft shows, always seeking an artistic outlet. Recently, Amy has taken up Diamond Dots, a new hobby she learned from some of Housing Unlimited’s tenants.
Amy also enjoys spending time outdoors, especially hiking in the fall, kayaking, and taking day trips with her husband, Bobby, and their friends. She’s an animal lover, and her 6-pound chihuahua, Tilly, is her constant companion at home, along with Ruby, her very particular 15-pound cat.
Mental health is an issue close to Amy’s heart, having touched her life, her family, and many of her friends. When she learned about Housing Unlimited, she was excited to get involved with an organization that supports a cause she deeply cares about. For the past 16 months, she has worked as a Program Associate, a role she loves. Amy enjoys collaborating with the staff and getting to know the tenants, often catching up on their lives and hobbies. She believes strongly in the importance of connecting with people and finding common ground, and this approach enriches her work every day.
