Staff Spotlight: Meet Our Maintenance Expert

For this month’s Staff Spotlight, we are thrilled to introduce a dedicated and highly skilled member of our maintenance team, Daniel Cruz. Originally from Nicaragua, Daniel has called the United States home for many years and brings a wealth of experience, a strong work ethic, and a warm spirit to Housing Unlimited.

Building a Foundation of Excellence

Daniel joined the Housing Unlimited family in April 2024, stepping into his role with an impressive, well-rounded background. He came to the team with extensive experience in painting, carpentry, finish carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, and general handyman skills.

Since coming on board, he hasn't stopped growing. He has fully embraced the opportunity to continue learning, developing his technical skills, and improving his English.

"What I enjoy most about my work is solving problems, taking on new challenges, and knowing that what I do helps residents feel comfortable, safe, and confident in their homes."

Driven by Community and Teamwork

For Daniel, the best part of the job goes far beyond everyday repairs. He thrives on ensuring that every resident feels secure and happy in their living space. He also deeply values the collaborative environment at Housing Unlimited, noting his appreciation for the strong teamwork and open communication he shares with his coworkers, Property Managers, and the residents themselves.

Faith, Family, and Free Time

Outside of work, family is the absolute center of [Name]’s life. He and his wife, Sandra, have been married for a wonderful 27 years and are the proud parents of three children: Erickson, Helen Vanessa, and Valeria Belén. He is incredibly grateful to God for his family and counts them as his greatest blessing.

When he finally gets some well-deserved downtime, you can usually find him:

• Casting a line out on the water for a relaxing day of fishing.

• Catching up on great movies.

• Spending quality time with his wife (seen in this photo taken at HUI's 2026 Welcome Home Celebration) and children.
