March Housing Unlimited Staff Spotlight: Desiree Penn

Desiree grew up in Montgomery County where she began her journey in service as a teenager volunteering at an Assisted Living Center and later becoming a Youth Pastor at her church. Desiree believes service is a privilege, and after working in the corporate world for eight years, her passion for giving back led her to Housing Unlimited Inc. (HUI).

Having joined HUI in June 2024 as a Property Manager, Desiree enjoys the mission, passion, and close-knit nurturing environment of her work with tenants. There are many layers to the position, and seeing residents flourish, grow, and become more independent in their roles is incredibly rewarding. She enjoys seeing her co-workers confidently interact with tenants and witnessing them live independently, maintaining professional and positive positions in their careers, the community, and additional enhancement roles like the Tenants Council.

Being a part of the HUI family has been a rewarding and transformative journey for Desiree. Every day, she witnesses firsthand the profound impact that dedicated service can have on individuals and the community at large. 

Desiree’s other passion is for organic and probiotic foods. In a perfect world, she would have a homestead that cultivates farm-raised meats, organic vegetables, fruits, grains, as well as natural herbs and teas.
