Look underfoot! Check outdoor steps, walkways, and decks to make sure they are stable and don’t have slippery wet spots. If the treads are coated with algae or moss, scrub the growth off by hand or with a power washer.
Belatedly celebrate National Frozen Food Day (March 6) and dig deep to rediscover what you’ve stored in the freezer. The freezer needs spring cleaning, too!
Tune up your air conditioner. While the weather is still cool, schedule your tune up with your HVAC company. To prepare, you can clear leaves, grass clippings, pollen, and other debris from the screen of the condensing unit.
Inspect the roof – Roof leaks can cause a ton of collateral damage to insulation, ceilings, walls, and furnishing. The trick is to identify and fix the problems before they lead to leaks. Bring out a professional or do a walk around by yourself.
Change your furnace filter! Yep. At least every three months. If you did it in December, it’s time to do it again!
