Housing Unlimited Staff Spotlight: Peter Thomas Whitaker

Meet Peter Thomas Whitaker, who joined Housing Unlimited approximately two years ago and proudly serves as a Program Associate. 

Having applied at a variety of businesses, Peter recalls realizing that Housing Unlimited was the perfect place for him during his initial interview. 

“I went through so many interviews before coming here and many of them went  badly. When I met with the leaders of Housing Unlimited about a future job, it was as if I was the only person in the room. They listened to everything I had to share, were extremely positive, and I knew that I was the perfect puzzle piece they needed.”

That sense of being heard and valued continues to define Peter’s experience—and his commitment—to Housing Unlimited.

In his role, Peter visits tenants, ensures their homes are well maintained, and explores any additional needs to support a comfortable and quality living space.

Peter loves his work and finds inspiration in the resilience of the tenants he supports.

“When seeing people trying to do better, I can’t help but be amazed.”

Peter’s hands-on approach and genuine care help make a meaningful difference in the lives of those Housing Unlimited serves.

“I love taking on any task that Housing Unlimited gives me and never thought I would have such a great job.”

When he’s not spreading encouragement and smiles to tenants and staff, Peter enjoys jazz music, bicycling, and the outdoors.
