Affordable Housing

Affordable Housing Development Program

Housing Unlimited promotes community integration and independence for individuals in mental health recovery. To this end, Housing Unlimited acquires (and when necessary, renovate) townhomes and condominium units that serve as permanent independent scattered-site supportive housing for extremely low-income (below 30% of area median income) adults in mental health recovery in Montgomery County, Maryland.  Housing Unlimited’s strategic plan calls for the purchase of three to four additional houses a year while maintaining Housing Unlimited’s special consumer-sensitive tenant empowerment practices.  Currently, Housing Unlimited owns 90 scattered-site homes and serves 247 very low-income adults in mental health recovery.
